Track 1 - Willow Park
stop saying goodbye
please stop saying goodbye
all I want is to be close to you
all I want is to be close to you

won't leave you alone
how could I leave you alone?
all I want is to be close to you
all I want is to be close to you
~

The title song was influenced by Erik Satie, The Blue Nile, and Vienna Boys' Choir

It was recorded using the piano at which Jinder's Grandmother first taught him to sing when he was just four years old.

This song is an exercise in lyrical minimalism, being merely a six line poem.
Track 3 - Sephora Hurricanes
another suicycle ending
I stretch my legs out in the sun
I ask you to walk me to the water
and once again I come undone

everything's goin' away
everything's goin' away
oh, what am I doin' here?
what am I doin' here?

I asked for oceans of forgiveness
I asked for gardens of pure truth
I asked for love but no-one listened
I asked and asked but what's the use?
everything's goin' away
everything's goin' away
oh, what am I doin' here?
what am I doin' here?
sephora hurricanes around me
warm winds risin' in the east

shooting star alone in the dawn
it sometimes feels like I've never been born
*repeats to fade*
~

Did you know...?

Sephora Hurricanes was the second track recorded for the album
It has never been performed live
It was the first recorded example of what would, within his career, become Jinder's trademark multi-track harmony arrangements, and the technique was used extensively throughout Willow Park
Track 4 - London in the Morning
London in the morning so busy and blue
London in the morning reminds me of you
London in the morning when the rain dries away
and the streets crowd with people
and the clouds part, revealing
the sun and our time is now
and I know I must leave
I'd go, but I don't know how
I'd go, but I don't know how

London in the morning so dirty and cold
London in the morning just makes me feel old
London in the morning you made me alone
as I stumble and push past
the hustlers and rent boys
all tired and going home
and I can't help but feel alone
and I need to go, now
I know but I don't know how
I know, but I don't know how
I know... I know... I know...
~

Did you know...?

London in the Morning was written at 5.00am on the platform of Turnham Green station, in London, where Jinder had spent the night sleeping on a bench

Jinder was on tour with Martin Grech when he wrote this song
Track 6 - Waiting Line
sat on my hands
by the side of the road
all broken down
a million miles from home
strange weather tonight
and I can't sleep
but you gotta expect strange weather
with the hours I keep
and I won't wait forever
in your waiting line
I won't wait forever
'cause I don't have the time
I'm just searching for something
to change my mind
I'm just searching for something
in your waiting line

well I'm searching for something
and I don't know what
I'm just searching for something
that I hope you've got
searching for something
and the world's coming in
but the world's two thirds water
man, and I can't swim

but I won't wait forever
in your waiting line
I won't wait forever
'cause I don't have the time
I'm just searching for someone
to change my mind
I'm just searching for something
in this waiting line

oh, your eyes are filled with tears
and the streets are jammed with cars
just get me out of London
away from empty bars
and the hotel's awful quiet
and this city's full of rain
just get me out of London
and let me start again

but I won't wait forever
in your waiting live
I won't wait forever
'cause I don't have the time
I'm just searching for someone
who can make it alright
I'm just searching for someone
in this waiting line
~

Waiting Line was the song that brought Jinder's career to the attention of the wider public, thanks to Zane Lowe's airplay

It was the first song written and recorded for the album, initially intended to be on a (never realised) second Olas & Jinder album
The solo was played on a Fender 1952 American Vintage Reissue Telecaster
Track 8 - Your Name is the Saddest Word I Know
you're the woman I kissed on the train
we danced in the rain
under the stars
and it seemed so easy to be
when you slept next to me
I gave you my heart

and I know that love is hard to prove
but it's something that explodes in you
I remember the dead summer heat
we made love in the street
by the light of the moon
and you held me as we said our goodbyes
with tears our eyes
from leaving too soon

and the morning lark
that sang for you
has died alone
just like the love we knew
now as purple night falls
across my garden wall
I think of you

and I know I'll never see you again
and I'll treasure those times
'til my life is through
and I know that I was wrong for you
and I could not change
but Lord, I wanted to

and I know that I was wrong for you
and I could not change
but Lord, I wanted to
~

This song was written during Jinder's time with Candlefire, but was never used by the band, as it didn't suit their style.

Track 10 - Wait in the Meadow
wait
in the meadow for me
in that sweet by-n-by
wait
in the meadow for me
I'll be here for all time
a summer storm
no sooner here than gone
Did you know...?

Wait in the Meadow was written for the loss that anyone experiences in life
Track 2 - Country Sadness
all my life I've been waiting for myself
and all my life I've been waiting
and between you and me
there's nothin' much here to see
as I roll with the madness
with nothing but a country sadness

country sadness
country sadnesss
I'm just rolling with nothing but a country sadness

all my life I've been searching for an out
all my life I've been searching
and between you and me
I wish the searching would let me be
'cause all of this madness
left me with nothing but a country sadness

country sadness
country sadness
I'm just rolling with nothing but a country sadness

and as I cross the law state line
another tear falls
I don't know if they'll ever stop at all
I know it's weak
but I'm so tired

and between me and you
well I've never been a deeper blue
and I've forgotten gladness
with nothing but my country
nothing but a country sadness

country sadness
country sadness
I'm just rolling with nothing but a country sadness

country sadness, good Lord
country sadness
I'm just rolling with nothing but my country
nothing but a country sadness
~

Country Sadness is influenced by Townes Van Zandt and Jason Molina.

It was recorded in one take!

The out of time count-in is an in joke
Track 5 - Aimee
Aimee, a pretty girl
dances on her own in the bar
Aimee, a lonely dream
oh I wanna be the places you are
and I did you wrong, but the time has come
to make up for what I've done
oh Aimee, one last dance
won't you say you'll give me one more chance?
oh Aimee love
you lay me low
and I missed you so
Aimee

Aimee, sweet as wine
you turned me into stone
Aimee, please be mine
I know I left you all alone
and I did you wrong, but the time has come
to make up for all the things I've done
oh, Aimee, I know you're not thinking of me
but I don't want anyone else to love me

oh Aimee, love
you lay me low
and I missed you so
Aimee

I did you wrong, but the time has come
to make up for all the things I've done
Aimee, one last chance
won't you say you'll save me one last dance?

Aimee love
you lay me low
I missed you so
Aimee

I missed you so
I missed you so
Aimee
~

Did you know...?

Aimee was the second single release from the album

It is the only song Jinder has recorded with a banjo solo!
Track 7 - In the Heat of the Morning
you are the world to me
I wonder if you're this much to everyone you meet
and when the rain is cold outside
I know that you'll be here
to keep me warm and alive

time can only take away our lives
and words we spoke
will disappear in time
oh, stay with me my love
at least until the day is dawning
oh, stay with me my love
in the heat of the morning

and the stars were high and bright
as the hung above us in the crystal night
as we lay on the summer grass
watching the small hours as they silently pass

time can only take away our lives
words we spoke
will disappear in time
oh, stay with me my love
at least until the day is dawning
oh, stay with me my love
in the heat of the morning

and if you'll be true to me
then we will see

that while time can only take away our lives
my love for you won't be withered by time
oh, stay with me my love
at least until the day is dawning
oh, stay with me my love
in the heat of the morning
the morning
~

In the Heat of the Morning ends with a 16-part choral arrangement, entirely arranged and performed by Jinder

Logistically and musically, the choral arrangement was one of the most challenging and complex pieces of music that Jinder created, as he was limited by the capacity of his recording equipment at the time
Track 9 - In the Snow
~Part One~
the world is dragging through me
I wish everyone who knew me
would pick up the phone and call me
'cause I miss you all tonight

and the sun's last rays are dying
I can hear the evening sighing
as the mountains pause to wonder
if the snow will fall tonight

but if you can find somewhere the river flows
then you will know exactly where I go
when I'm all alone and in the snow
the firelight glows golden
I'm listening to the beach boys
a strange wall of harmony tumbling out into the night
but summer is just a memory
and the frozen night surrounds me
and the frost whispers messages
across my window pane tonight

but if you can find somewhere the river flows
then you will know exactly where I go
when I'm all alone
when I'm all alone
when I'm all alone and in the snow

the mountains and the heavens
are all laid out before me
and the blue glow on the marshes
is the ghost of winter light

aurora borealis
come whisper me your secrets
for only I can know you
I am not as other men
but if you can find somewhere the river flows
then you will know exactly where I go
when I'm all alone
when I'm all alone
when I;m all alone and in the snow
~Part Two~

looking up at a constellation of sadness
frozen in an overcoat of maybes
I am here and she is there
but still I don't feel safe
and what if this is it?

what if this is it?
what if this is the end of man?
what if this is it?
what if this is it?
no-one understands
what if this is it?
what if this is it?

what if this is it?
what if this is it~?
and we have just pissed away our lives
what if this is it?
what if this is it?
this one last try

you are my rising sign
you are my hotlone to God
and we are the silent ones
our voices will never be heard
let us join hands
wrap our tears around the world

what if this is it?
what if this is it?
what if this is the end of man?
what if this is it?
what if this is it?
what if no-one understands?

what if this is it?
what if this is it?
and we've gone as far as we can
what if this is it?
what if this is it?
and we're all just left holding sand
we're all just left holding sand
~

In the Snow is a two-part song, with a dramatic change between the two parts.
Part One was written for the never replied second Olas & Jinder album. So, Jinder modified it and added the second part.
Jinder would always close a show with this song, whilst touring Willow Park
